I have one other thing to say, please disregard Shirley Harvey's comments, they are steeped in fear and ignorance of the Gospel of Christ Jesus. She obviously only knows how to quote scriptures but does not understand that she needs to KNOW the Savior!
People like her are a dime a dozen. They will tell you that you need to fight and struggle to get over sin, but the fact is that satan and sin are defeated foes now. You are no longer interested in sin, sin has no more dominion over you. These people will tell you that you need to change, but WILL NOT HAVE A CLUE AS TO HOW. Stay away from all that suggest such ignorance. The only way to change behaviors you do not like about yourself are to know that you are accepted and loved without reproach and unconditionally by God because of your relationship to Him through Jesus Christ. Without Christ you can do nothing. It may take you ten years. You may go to your grave with a certain characteristic that never goes away, if anything, may intensify. But that doesn't matter because it is not about you and you getting all holy and pious so you can parade it all around men who are not. This does NOT glorify God. Glory comes to God through people like you, who don't have a snowballs' chance in hell of ever coming out of a thing without a divine miracle, but cling to the cross of Christ, and in Him, they boast, not of themselves, because you are just a vessel for the Lord to use. Who knows, another gay man or woman may get saved through you, not because you went straight, but because you told them that Jesus Christ accepted YOU, dirty, little you, and views you as the most precious holy thing because and only because you believe in HIM. That will draw more gays to Christ than Shirley's threats. Sinners don't run to church because someone beats them over the head with a Bible and tells them that they are going to hell. They run to Jesus and get saved because they NEED HIM. Needy people get miracles, needy people get saved.
