Dear Friends and Family of Stuart,

One of the problems with people that are not Judeo-Christian in orientation and especially with those who are not familiar with the fundamentalist view, is that people always talk about a loving God wouldn't...... Fill in your own blank. God is loving, but not in the way most humans perceive it. We think of the touchy, feely, feelings that we exude as love. We are not in a position to understand God's love, judgements, thoughts or decisions. In the fundamentalist view as I see it and understand it through my own imperfect vision is that God doesn't create homosexuality. He says that it is an abomination. Nowhere does he say that the person is the abomination, only the practice. Anything not of God is of the devil. Stuart and many others in his predicament have been the victim of an evil spirit that attaches itself to a human being. The human being may be a wonderful human being, but they are being tormented by the "author of lies" and homosexuality is one of those lies. Even if most people end up accepting homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle and believing it is genetically programmed, that still does not change God's mind because the Word states that He does not change. Because of God's decision to create us with free will, and then the subsequent fall into sin with the devil's enticement, human beings desire and decide to do all kind of unhealthy, sinful, practices. Because Jesus came there is grace and mercy: time to reach understanding of our problems, and forgiveness for our sins because of His sacrifice at the cross. I feel very sad for the conflict and pain that Stuart and his family have gone through, and there is no doubt in my mind that they love him and he loves them. This is a difficult problem to solve. A minor analogy might be an eating disorder. We must have food and we enjoy food just as the human beings must have sexuality and enjoy sexuality, but when the devil visits us with a dysfunction of this normal healthy appetite, we believe that although we are very unhappy with the consequences, we can't stop doing what is so bad for us. My prayers go out to this family. May God bless all of you and free you from this evil spirit's desire to destroy Stuart and his family.
