Dear Brian,
I wholehearted appreciate your reading my views and responding. We certainly are accountable for what we think and believe. God didn't create junk and He makes no mistakes. God allows us to go through trying events for our edification and permits us to learn and to overcome. Truth is not an opinion, Brian. Truth is an empirical, testable, inevitable fact. I don't have it and you don't have it. None of us do. All we have to go on is His word for those of us who believe and who have asked Jesus to come into their hearts. The Holy Spirit speaks truth to us, but we are such imperfect beings with such limited understanding, that we interpret things as we would like them to be. God is our unconditional lover, and yet God is perfect justice. None of us could rate a "not guilty" verdict without the sacrifice of Christ on the cross and the mercy of salvation that provides. I don't believe God plays dirty tricks on his people. That would be a god with a small "g". Making someone to be born "gay" would be a dirty trick in my view. Opening these loved ones to such pain and discrimination from a world that denies them so much. The Word says that "satan is the prince of this world, and is seeking whom he might kill and destroy" and also that " war not with the flesh, but with principalities and powers of the air". This is so true to me, especially when we see people that claim to be children of God, persecuting people in Jesus'name. It has happened through the centuries and will continue until Jesus comes back to claim His people. Many people that will claim to be His, Jesus will say to them "depart from me, you workers of iniquity, I never knew you". I can't prove anything to you or anyone else what God has spoken to me, and I don't intend to try. Only to tell you that you are loved and you have the same chance everyone has to repent of whatever sin you might recognize that you have done, and ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you. God does the rest. He takes us right where we are and then if we seek His face, He will guide us into all wisdom. He doesn't care about our church denomination or whether someone else thinks we belong to a cult. None of that matters to our Lord because He recognizes none of that. He is "no respecter of persons". Let us pray for one another, that God will direct our steps, and guide us into all wisdom. Meanwhile, please accept my love in Christ for you and for Stuart, and my apologies for what evil men have done to you in the name of our Lord. God bless you.
